What do we believe with regard to how young children best learn. If we believe that
children are natural learners, and play is their primary mode of exploration and discovery
the idea that play is not just a break from learning; it is learning in action, where children construct knowledge, solve problems, and develop essential skills.
Then we put play at the forefront of everything we do.

Educators in this workshop will:

  • · Understand what play is
  • · Discover the research-backed reasons why play is vital for early childhood development.
  • · Explore effective ways to set up spaces to maximize play opportunities.
  • · Discuss the importance of open-ended materials in play
  • · Understand how play is “research in action” where children build theories, make sense of their world and construct new meaning.
  • · Reflect on your teaching practices and beliefs about play, and consider how to create a supportive play culture.
  • · Collaborate with fellow educators to brainstorm solutions and share best practices.

This workshop will be conducted in a highly interactive format, incorporating a blend of presentations, group discussions and practical engagements.
